Around the Bay in a Day

This program is focused on supporting anybody to complete the Around the Bay in a Day bike ride.

The concept is pretty simple. Hop on your bike and ride from the Docklands to the ferry at either Queenscliff or Sorrento. Hop of the ferry and ride back to Melbourne. All up, a leisurely 210 kms.

We have 2 levels of program for this endeavour:
The beginners program is for the social rider who commutes from time to time and perhaps uses the bike paths, but has not really ridden in a pack or with a group before. This program spans 22 weeks with the first 5 weeks being focused on building skill, technique and confidence on the bike. Once this is established, we then move onto a the experienced riders program.

The experienced riders program assumes an ability to ride in a pack and also an ability to comfortably ride for about an hour covering about 30 kms. We then take a rider of this caliber and over a 17 week period build their capability to cover the full 210 kms. The longest ride before the big day will be about 7 hours, so the build up is lengthy and the commitment is real.

People who complete this ride typically make riding a part of their every day life after this.
